What will we be doing?

We will be working intensively for five days on conducting skills. Each day there are classes in conducting technique, rehearsing, warming-up and vocal styles. Apart from that, there will be short workshops each day focussing on a range of subjects. [...]

Teachers

The teachers are Tijs Krammer and Ruben Smits. As we recognise that we will have participants varying levels of skill, we will be working with two groups, roughly divided by experience. Both groups groups will be working with Tijs and Ruben, so that a range of teaching styles will be experienced. [...]

Location

The Ward Swingle Cursus will take place at the Akoesticum in Ede, The Netherlands. The Akoesticum is a national training centre for music, with fifteen fully equipped teaching rooms and a concert hall. [...]

The Ward Swingle is € 595,00, which includes scores, coffee and tea, lunch and dinner for the whole week (excluding dinner on Friday). [...]

Repertoire

In the Practicum we will sing mainly pop and jazz arrangements, although some gospel, world music and arrangements for musicals may also be included at times. The pieces chosen for inclusion are those from well-established and international arrangers. [...]
